Steam Control Valves
We can offer an extensive range of steam control valves from leading manufacturers and have a technical team that can ensure the correct valves are supplied. Here at ValvesTubesFittings.com, we are a leading supplier of steam control valves from market leaders, including Samson and TLV. We also offer steam control valves from less well-known manufacturers such as Genebre, where we have been a trusted distributor for over a decade. For more information on all we can offer in steam control valves, please continue to read our latest blog or contact our excellent technical sales team.
Steam Control Valves From TLV
TLV offers an excellent range of steam control valves using the technical know-how that has made them market leaders in steam engineering for decades. TLV has brought the latest innovation to control valves based on their pressure-reducing valve technology. The first product we will take a closer look at is the TLV CV-COS-16 steam control valve, a leading 21st-century valve with a built-in separator and steam trap.
CV-COS-16 Control Valve For Steam
The TLV CV-COS-16 is a high-quality steam control valve based on the TLV COS-16 pressure-reducing valve. This highly efficient and cost-effective product has a water hammer deflecting piston, a built-in separator; and a free-float steam trap. The piston arrangement in this valve has been designed with a curved piston as opposed to the more common flat valve piston.
This innovation deflects water due to the curve at the base of the piston and comes complete with a spring arrangement on the shaft that ensures the piston realigns throughout its operation. In our experience the process control on the CV-COS-16 is superior to similar control valves, with our first experience of supplying one of these; replaced two separate control valves on oat cookers.
In this case, the CV-COS-16 was also fitted with a pressure transducer which meant the unit functioned as a pressure control valve. Allowing a single valve to operate across two phases of a cook at different pressures. This not only simplified the entire procedure, but it also reduced the amount of maintenance required as maintaining a CV-COS-16 can be simpler than that of other manufacturers.
The reason maintenance is easier to carry out is the way these control valves are put together. The main flanged section has no internal moving parts and just contains the cyclone separator. The section above is bolted with only four bolts and has a built-in Teflon seal; which if handled correctly will reseal when dismantled. Allowing access to the pilot assembly and diaphragm to clean and maintain. A similar set-up with four bolts gives access to the bottom section which contains the steam trap chamber.
Lastly, the CV-COS-16 steam control valve with its built-in separator can increase heat transfer by up to 9%. So, uniquely a range of steam control valves offer an energy-saving alternative to the standard steam control valves available from other manufacturers. If you would like us to size a valve for your steam system, please contact our technical sales team.
CV-COSR-16 Steam Control Valve
This is another innovative product from our friends at TLV, almost the same as the CV-COS-16, the CV-COSR-16 is only missing the inbuilt separator and steam trap. But the 2017 edition of the CV-COSR-16 steam control valves has a connection to add a TLV SS1N-10 free float line drain and steam trap.
This means that even though there is not a separator fitted, this control valve will drain the non-discharged condense contained in the steam line. The control features of this valve are exactly as we have described in the previous paragraph; just without the clear advantages of a cyclone separator and built-in steam trap.
Samson Controls
We can offer Samson steam control valves here at ValvesTubesFittings.com, this high-quality manufacturer offers an array of options; to suit the needs of even the most testing steam systems. Standard steam control valves are supplied with excellent quality pneumatic actuators with a 0.2 to 1 bar signal and 4-20ma to complete this electro-pneumatic steam control valve. Body materials vary and include; cast iron, SG iron, cast steel and stainless-steel options; and our knowledgeable technical sales team are available Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 17:00pm to offer the right valve for your system.
With Samson steam control valves, special valve trims can be supplied to suit any system. So, if you require a 40mm flanged valve with the attributes of a 25mm valve, we can offer a reduced trim to suit your requirements. This negates the requirement for pipeline reducers on difficult installations or in more confined areas close to the steam user.
Genebre Valves
Genebre steam control valves come at a lower cost than many of our other options but still offer good temperature control across a wide range of systems. The Genebre article 5065 modulating temperature control valve is available flanged PN16 in sizes 20mm to 100mm.
These carbon steel steam control valves can operate at a maximum temperature of 230°C and a maximum pressure of 13 bar. For the valve to operate as a temperature control valve; it must be fitted with a Genebre article 5952 electro-pneumatic control and positioner. They operate from a 4-20ma signal, with a 3-15 psi control signal and with an air feed to the actuator of 3.5 to 6 bar; for price and delivery contact our sales team.
