Stainless Steel Press Tube
We have several solutions available now in stainless steel M-profile press tubes, with options in 304 and 316 stainless steel; and in addition, eco and standard wall options. The following blog will try to explore the pros and cons of each of these possibilities and the new 304 range in limited sizes to replace carbon steel heating mains.
For those not already aware, ValvesTubesFittings.com are M-Press distributors based in the Manchester area and offering deliveries across the United Kingdom. For more information on all we can offer in stainless steel press tubes; click read more or contact our excellent sales team.
Stainless Steel Press Tube in 304 Grade
This year for the first time we can offer a small range of 304 stainless steel press tubes in four sizes. They are 54mm x 2mm wall, 76mm x 2mm wall, 88.9mm x 2mm wall and 108mm x 2mm wall. This robust and quality product is an ideal replacement for carbon steel press lines and although we cannot offer the fittings in 304 stainless steel; we can still offer a very competitive, high-quality product in 316 stainless steel.
The 304-stainless tube and the 316-stainless steel fittings are completely compatible but it must be noted that the 304-stainless steel press tube range is not suitable for WRAS installations. For availability, please contact our sales team or click the relevant product link.
Stainless Steel Press Tube 316 Grade
High-quality stainless steel M-profile press tube 316 grade is available from stock here at ValvesTubesFittings.com in 15mm to 54mm sizes. On short lead times, we can offer 67mm to 168mm products. The larger sizes are double pressed and the installation of a length of 168mm Ø tube can be completed in under five minutes; once the tube is in position. A stainless steel press tube can be used with standard 316 stainless steel M-Press fittings to complete WRAS potable water installations.
The same tube can be installed with M-Press higher temperature FKM seals for solar installations and industrial applications. The maximum working temperature for the FKM seals is 180°C and the minimum is -30°C. These same seals in conjunction with stainless steel press tubes can be used for compressed air, vacuum, water disinfection and purified water installations.
Stainless steel press tube when installed using HNBR yellow M-Press gas seals is approved for British and European natural gas work. These seals are normally factory-fitted but can be offered loose for the installer to change the seals from stock. As with all press installations, proper procedures should be followed to ensure that the excellent product warranty is maintained. All M-Press stainless steel press tube installations are subject to a 40-year warranty; when installed correctly using an approved calibrated M-profile press tool.
Stainless Steel Press Tube Approvals
All the relevant approvals for stainless steel press tubes can be found by visiting the M-Press website or by downloading the latest copy of the M-Press technical handbook by clicking the corresponding link. For current gas installation requirements, our products are DVGW-approved and for UK water installation on potable systems, we can provide WRAS certification.
We cannot yet predict how the present standards and approvals will be implemented; after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union. We will of course blog on this subject in the future as the situation becomes clearer or not. Many product standards we presently offer are not all European and each European standard has an international equivalent. Contact our excellent technical sales team for more information on this or any other product enquiry.
