October 1^st 1988 was the first trading day of Besseges (Valves, Tubes & Fittings) Ltd, we were then located in James Howe Mill which is now a part of our Warehousing on Turner Lane Ashton under Lyne attached to our present building which was purpose-built and completed in 1996. As a business, we have grown in stature over the years we have been trading and survived two deep recessions and managed to retain a very efficient and dedicated sales team. Some members of our present sales team are in their 25^th year with the Company and others have done 20 and 12 years respectively. I believe this says a great deal about any Company to retain such a degree of loyalty from its staff and sends a message out to customers and potential customers alike that we have the know-how to ensure good service and a level of product knowledge that we believe is second to none in our industry. Besseges (Valves, Tubes & Fittings) Ltd For All your Pipeline Requirements

The company was formed originally by Marie Arrowsmith and her Father Pat McNair as the local area lacked any reasonable merchant coverage for pipeline products, valves and fittings, Besseges (Valves, Tubes & Fittings) Ltd started with around 30 customers in the local area around Tameside. As the ambition of our Directors began to grow they decided that more staff were required and for the first time a Sales Engineer was out on the road to expand the customer base. From this came the beginning of our present Sales Team the Sales Engineer being myself Stephen Tate and our now Sales Director Mark Savarizadeh, later followed Mark Embury who began life in the Warehouse, taking over from Mark Savarizadeh as he took over the internal sales role. A little further down the road Marie’s Partner Darren Arrowsmith better known as Lou joined the team and 12 years ago Stuart Hutchings joined the internal sales team to complete our present sales and purchasing staff. Over the years our business has expanded into a busy and efficient company offering an extensive range of pipework, valves and fittings in many materials including mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, malleable iron, UPVc, ABS, brass, copper, bronze and some more exotic metals.

Transport & Warehouse

We started with a second-hand 7.5-ton flatback wagon which was out delivering every day within the local area, we then moved on to an extended flat-back, still a 7.5-ton vehicle which then became two vehicles as we expanded our customer base across the region. Moving on to the present day, our transport is two HGV flatbacks delivering to businesses across Lancashire, Cheshire, and Manchester every day and adding to this deliveries to Merseyside and across the country as and when required by our expanding customer base. Our current Warehouse expanded by the inclusion of our previous premises in James Howe Mill was still not quite what we needed and now have another Warehouse elsewhere in Ashton under Lyne to ensure we can stock all that our customer base requires.

Distributors for major brands

The passing of time and the growth of our expanding business brought us to the attention of some major brands in the pipeline and valve industry. In 1999 we were approached by TLV to become one of their first UK Distributors, our relationship with this innovative and forward-thinking business has benefited both sides and today we service many small to medium-process steam users and contractors across the region.

Following our success with the TLV Product range we became a distributor for Genebre and from small beginnings we have become one of the country’s leading stockists of the Genebre Valves and pipe fittings range of products. Our stock investment ensures our customers will always find the product they are looking for on the shelf. You will find valves ready for actuation to customer specification and stainless steel BSP threaded products ready for delivery the following day. Add to this threaded, socket weld and flanged valves available from stock and you have all your valve requirements available from a single source. We also offer Albion valve products in addition to our Genebre range and can deliver the next day to nearly all areas of the United Kingdom.

Moving away from our range of valves we offer an extensive range of pipe and fittings, in malleable iron after many years of looking for the right quality of product we became a Jinan Meide Distributor. For tube products to BS EN 10255:2004, we carry stock from both Yucel and Borusan and can offer stock from 8mm (1/4”) to 150mm (6”) nominal bore in red, galvanised and self-colour finishes.

In plastics, we are a leading stockist of Comer fittings and valves offering sizes from 15mm (1/2”) to 200mm (8”), the same sizes being available in all classes of UPVc tube. You will also find a full range of welding fittings and flanges on the shelf in all the major standards required. Last but not least to compliment the tube we carry in galvanised to BS EN 10255:2004 we are also a distributor of the Fastclamp range of handrailing products. In this range, we offer the full catalogue from stock and can also provide the DDA range for disabled handrail projects.
