ASME B16.11 3000lb and 6000lb NPT Pipe Fittings

As well as offering ASME B16.11 3000lb and 6000lb BSP fittings we can provide the same in American NPT. Most of our small bore 15mm and 20mm fittings are NPT threaded, which are almost identical to the BSP threaded fittings. We carry separate BSP and NPT threaded fittings above this in stock as they are not compatible.

As with many ASME and ANSI specification flanges, fittings and pipework, they are used on many chemical plants and oil refinery sites across the UK. These industries have tended to standardise to these specifications all over the World; even though much of the standards in the United States are currently imperial in origin. Much of Europe and the United Kingdom have moved with the times and work with metric-based measurement. I believe there is a growing call in the US to change to a metric system and end the use of out-of-date imperial measurement.

Our stock in this range is considerable and we are working presently to expand our warehouse capacity to expand our stock. This expansion will cover our more traditional range of pipeline, fittings and flanges and new products; as we take the opportunities that are afforded to us by different manufacturers. Our business has expanded pretty much year on year since we first started trading and this year is no different to the previous ones. We look forward to dealing with new businesses as their searches fall on our Websites and all we have to offer.

ASME B16.11-2016 (Revision of ASME B16.11:2011)

ASME B16.11:2016 is a revision of the previous ASME B16.11:2011 standard and by the looks of it, not a great deal changed. One of the more obvious changes that was made to the standard was the clarification of the language; concerning the use of bar stock as a starting material. Other changes included the dimensions for 6mm (1/8″) couplings, half couplings and caps in the class 6000lb range. Apart from that, there were several tables throughout the original document updated and changed for this 2016 revision. The standard for those that require it can be obtained through ASME although there are other sources online.

Pipe nipples in black and galvanised mild steel to BS EN 10241ASME B16.11 Alternatives

For water and air systems, we stock a wide range of malleable iron fittings BS EN 10242:1995; in black and galvanised finishes.
