When installing an Actuated Valve on any hot system it is important to protect the actuator and solenoid from the long-term effects of heat transfer via the valve stem. To ensure the actuator is protected from the heat all our Actuated Valves for hot systems are supplied with TSM Kits if required.

These simple inexpensive devices offer a long-term solution to a common problem, the most recent issue on a local food manufacturing site where they had multiple valve failures using normal solenoid valves. We supplied an Actuated Valve with a TSM Kit to replace the solenoid valve after each solenoid valve lasted only a matter of days and that was six months ago. Our customer has not experienced a problem since the replacement Actuated Valve was fitted. The alternative reason to fit a TSM kit to Actuated Valves

Although we have always supplied a TSM Kit for thermal protection, it is not what it was primarily designed for. TSM in long hand is TA-LUFT stem extension mounting kit and is used to prevent emissions from the valve stem seals and is designed to be mounted on manually operated valves as well as activated valves.
